How to convert a ICICI Bank statement PDF to Excel

Every transaction extracted, checked against the running balance, and delivered as a formatted workbook. No installation, and your first report needs no signup.

Step 1 — Download the statement from ICICI

Log in to ICICI iMobile or internet banking → Accounts → Bank Accounts → Statement → select period → Download PDF. Choose the widest period you need — the analyzer handles a full financial year in one file, so there is no benefit to downloading month by month.

Step 2 — Have the password ready if the file is locked

Your registered PAN in lower case followed by your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format. You do not need to remove the password yourself: the analyzer has a built-in unlock step where you enter it once.

Step 3 — Upload it

Open the bank statement analyzer and drop in the PDF. The bank is detected automatically, so there is nothing to configure. CSV and Excel statements work too if that is what you were given.

Step 4 — Check the verification, then download

Before you download anything, look at the extraction summary: number of transactions found, total credits, total debits, and whether the balance chain verified. If the closing balance matches the statement, every row in between has been read correctly. Then generate the Excel workbook.

What you get

What usually goes wrong with ICICI statements

ICICI statements carry a transaction-remarks column that often contains the UPI reference, the counterparty VPA and a description all in one string. The analyzer parses the counterparty out of it so the party-wise summary is actually useful.

If it fails. Formats change without notice. If your ICICI statement does not parse cleanly, email it (redacted as you need) to info@myfinmak.com with a note on what went wrong. New formats are usually supported within a week.

Frequently asked

Is my ICICI statement stored anywhere?

No. The file is processed in memory and the Excel we generate is deleted from the server the moment your download begins. See the privacy policy.

Can I convert a scanned or photographed statement?

Yes. If the PDF has no text layer, OCR is used automatically. Accuracy depends on scan quality — check the balance verification carefully on OCR output.

How many statements can I convert?

Unlimited during the free beta. Your first report needs no signup; after that we ask for an email address.

Can I convert several accounts at once?

Upload them one at a time for now. A multi-account consolidator that merges accounts into one reconciled cash book is next on the roadmap.
